The defining feature of the project is a glass wall revealing the pastry kitchen, paired with a display counter shaped like an oversized piece of butter.
We worked with a compact space of just 52 sq m, yet with generous four-metre-high ceilings and large windows. Within this footprint, we created 24 comfortable seats. A diagonal layout opens up panoramic views across the entire interior, allowing guests seated at the back to experience the space in its full depth. By separating the kitchen with a glass partition, we introduced another layer of volume and movement into the interior, allowing guests to watch the pastry-making process as it unfolds. The material palette focuses on natural and tactile finishes: poplar veneer, walnut burl and Swiss Alps granite. At the heart of the space is a large glossy display volume inspired by a piece of butter. The tables and chairs were custom-made by local manufacturers.
Special attention was given to lighting, which operates in two automated scenarios: daytime and evening.
A large custom chandelier stretches across the space, with candle-like light sources creating an intimate evening atmosphere. Vintage 1960s Italian Poliarte wall sconces complete the composition.
